Blackmer XL/HXL Series for Oil Transfer

Contributed by: PumpScout Staff

Blackmer’s XL and HXL Series sliding vane pumps are ideal for processing, filling, and transfer applications within the oil and natural gas industry.

The XL and HXL Series pumps are manufactured in ductile-iron materials of construction and feature a bolt-on internal relief valve that offers protection from high pumping pressures. The XL pumps also offer replaceable casing liner and end discs, which allow the pumping chamber to be rebuilt to like-new condition without requiring that the pump be removed from the piping system.

Blackmer’s XL and HXL Series pumps offer several standard operational features, including the ability to self-adjust for wear while maintaining steady flow rates, the ability to self-prime, and dry-run capabilities. All pumps also include mechanical seal and ball-bearing construction in addition to a symmetrical bearing-support system; the external ball bearings are isolated from pumpage by mechanical seals to extend bearing life and minimize risk of contamination. To simplify maintenance and reduce downtime, all XL and HXL Series pump vanes can be replaced without removing the pump from the piping system.

XL Series pumps are available in five port sizes: 1.25 in, 1.5 in, 2 in, 3 in and 4 in. HXL Series pumps, designed to handle high-volume loads, are available in 6 in, 8 in and 10 in with maximum rated capacities of 755 gpm, 1,228 gpm and 2,220 gpm (2,858 l/min, 4,648 l/min, and 8,404 l/min), respectively.
