Ebara, a pump manufacturer known for its engineered pumps, pump products, and related services for the water, wastewater, commercial, municipal, energy, and power industries, recently held seminars on pumps and chillers in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The seminar lasted for two days and was held at the Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Cooperation Center (VJCC). As the fourth in a series of seminars to be held at VJCC this year, the two-day event attracted 82 participants including personnel from construction companies, equipment businesses, local plant staff working for various Japanese companies, and a teacher from a technical university.

This seminar was especially welcome as Ho Chi Minh suffers from frequent flooding as a result of rising water levels in the Saigon River. These floods greatly impact the people located in the city. Ebara’s seminar included lectures on the basics of pumping technology such as flood control pumps and flood control measures.

Ho Chi Minh is currently undergoing rapid urbanization, constructing multiple subways and large-sized buildings that will depend on chillers for air conditioning. A portion of the Ebara seminar focused on chillers and included a lecture on the different types of chillers, including how to select the right type for various industry applications.

Ebara has fostered profound working relationships with Southeast Asian countries through technical guidance and other international cooperation activities. Since establishing the Ebara Hatakeyama Memorial Fund in 1989, the pump manufacturer has organized 247 seminars in different countries around the world, ultimately attracting more than 11,000 participants. In 2015, Ebara will continue to host seminars in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Colombia, Peru, and other locations.

Ebara’s product lines includes submersible sewage, submersible sump, semi-vortex, vortex, grinder, non-clog, and dry pit pump models. The pump manufacturer also offers a complete line of corrosion resistant formed stainless steel pumps, making it a leader in flood control products.
