Grundfos has an annual pump production of over 16 million pump units including circular pumps, submersible motors, and state-of-the-art electronics for monitoring and controlling pumps. The pump manufacturer recently released their new series of SL submersible wastewater pumps, a new line of pumps designed to handle raw and unscreened sewage, in addition to effluent and large volumes of surface water. The wastewater pumps are able to process water in municipal, utility, and industrial applications. Because Grundfos is one of the world’s leading pump manufacturers, SL submersible wastewater pumps will be available worldwide in over 55 countries, as sold through local distributors.

SL submersible wastewater pumps are being released as part of the solids-handling pump series. Motor ranges for the new pumps vary from 1.5 to 15 horsepower, and they are available with two types of impellers.

  • The SLV/SuperVortex Impeller provides the free passage of solids up to four inches in diameter. This pump is ideal for liquids that contain some solids, fibers, or gassy sludge.
  • The SL 1/S Tube Impeller is also able to accommodate solids of up to four inches, but this pump is designed specifically for large flows of raw sewage.

Both the SLV and SL1 pumps are designed for permanent submerged installations in demanding applications. The pumps can be used in municipal wastewater, network pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, public buildings, housing projects, and many other commercial applications.

The SL submersible wastewater pump series is designed with IE3 premium efficiency motor components for greater dependability. The wastewater pumps also utilize a wide variety of additional features that include quick removable pump housing clamps, cartridge seals, quick removable plug-in cords, and smooth exterior components. These features not only provide a high-efficiency performance, they also make servicing the pump quick and easy.
