A Better, Faster Way to Source Pumps

Mouvex Unveils SLS4 and SLS8 Seal-less Drive Eccentric Disc Pumps

Mouvex manufactures positive displacement pumps, vane compressors, screw compressors and hydraulic coolers for a variety of applications around the world. Early this month, the company launched its new SLS4 and SLS8 Seal-less Drive Eccentric Pumps for hygienic applications. The pumps are ideal for use in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.

The new design incorporates a double-wall bellows monitored through a pressure switch, allowing the bellows to be an independent sub-assembly within the pump. This ensures safer and simpler operation, allowing the pumps to be used in hygienic applications regulated by EHEDG, 3A, FDA and the new European Commission (EC) Regulation No. 1935/2004, which applies to all food-contact materials during production.

Mouvex’s SLS4 and SLS8 pumps can handle differential pressures to 10 bar (145 psi) and 6 bar (87 psi) and flow rates 75 L/min (19.8 gpm) and 133 L/min (35 gpm), respectively. The pumps can handle temperatures ranging from -15oC (5oF) to 100oC (212oF). High-quality machined parts for optimum surface finish are also compatible with SMS, DIN11851, DIN11864 and ASME-BPE clamp flanges.

The SLS4 and SLS8 pumps also include features of other Mouvex eccentric disc pumps, including the following:

  • Seal-less design
  • Self-priming and dry-run capabilities
  • Strong vacuum and compression effect that allows for line stripping
  • Low shear rate
  • Only two wear parts
  • Easy maintenance and repair
  • Optional heating jacket

Mouvex is in the process of replacing its C-Series line, which debuted on the market in 1996. The SLS1, SLS1, and SLS3 models are already being used in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical markets. The SLS12, SLS18, SLS24, and SLS36 are slated to be release in 2014.
