Sulzer recently announced that it had completed its acquisition of Grayson Armature Large Motor Division, Inc. and Grayson Armature Orange Texas on August 1, 2014. The deal is valued at $42 million and solidifies Sulzer’s position as one of the largest partners for electromechanical services in the Gulf Coast area.

Grayson Armature provides electro-mechanical repair services, re-manufacturing, re-design, upgrades, modifications and additional services at its Texas facilities in Pasadena and Orange.

Sulzer’s acquisition of these businesses will allow the company to improve its combined offering to pump and electro-mechanical customers, as well as increase its ability to service equipment. These improvements are part of Sulzer’s greater commitment to improving customer processes and business performance through high-quality maintenance and service solutions.

Grayson Armature will operate under Sulzer’s Rotating Equipment Services division as Sulzer Grayson Inc., led by Jim Mugford, Sulzer’s Pump and Electromechanical Services President for the US, who views this acquisition as a key advantage for Sulzer.

“The addition of Grayson closes a large gap in our portfolio and greatly enhances our electromechanical service competences to better serve customers in the Gulf Coast Area," says Mugford.

Sulzer Grayson’s existing Texas facilities will be integrated into the company’s global network of service centers as the Pasadena Service Center and the Orange Service Center. Sulzer will also relocate the pumps service center, currently in LaPorte, to Pasadena.
