Sulzer Pumps recently opened its third service center in China, located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in Southwestern China. An important market for the company, this addition strengthens its existing service network to better serve Sulzer Pumps’ customers.

Demand for pumps handling applications within the oil & gas, hydrocarbon processing, and power industries has grown exponentially in Southwestern China over the past few years. This service addresses demand for technical service support, repairs, and overhauling of pumps in the region.

The pump company also recently signed a long-term service and maintenance contract with PetroChina for the Sichuan Petrochemical project, which houses 700 pumps. The new service center is located in close proximity to this project, minimizing time and cost of lengthy transportation.

Sulzer Pumps’ new service facility is fully equipped with an extensive range of machine tools; it also features inspection and assembly areas to facilitate overhaul and repair activities for its pumps as well as Other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). This service center joins two others, located in Shanghai and Guangzhou, to efficiently serve Sulzer Pumps’ customers in China.
