A Better, Faster Way to Source Pumps

Sulzer Pumps on New FPSO Vessel in Brazil

Sulzer Pumps will supply three water injection pump packages and topside API 610 process pumps for installation on a new floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in the Iracema Norte area of a pre-salt oil field off the coast of Brazil. The end customer, Petrobras, is a multinational energy corporation and a leader in oil production.

The three water injection pump packages consist of 20 pumps total, including direct drive type BB5 water injection pumps. The BB5 pumps feature 5.8MW electric motors and back-to-back impeller design; this allows high pressure delivered from a direct drive pumpset to minimize pump footprint and reduce lube oil consumption. The API 610 pumpsets include OH2, OH3, OH1 and BB1 type pumps, delivering safe and efficient transfer for topside applications.

The pump packages will be designed and manufactured to meet Petrobras’ requirements at Sulzer Pumps’ manufacturing facility in Jundiaí, Brazil. The FPSOs are scheduled to begin operations in 2014, at which point Sulzer Pumps will stay involved through commissioning and servicing the equipment offshore through its service facility in Jundiaí.
