Xylem is expanding its dewatering pump rental outlets across Europe within the construction, municipal, mining, and industrial sectors. The industrial pump company reports a growing demand in these markets for expert providers of complete, turnkey dewatering solutions and dewatering pump rental services.

Over the next few years, Xylem will open new rental branches to increase their supply of surface-mounted and submersible pumps. The pump company plans to create these new branches either by refurbishing existing premises, building on new sites, or through acquisition.

Andrew Jones, head of Xylem’s dewatering business, says, “We have noticed an increased demand within the industry for dewatering services to be supplied as a complete package including pump and water treatment systems, engineering expertise and project management. More limited budgets due to challenging economic conditions mean that customers do not wish to make significant investments in equipment purchases that may just be required for a one-off project.”

In response to these market demands, Xylem will unveil its new submersible dewatering pump range at the 2013 Bauma International Trade Fair in Munich from April 15-21. Designed for water removal in tough applications such as mining, tunneling, and other harsh dewatering conditions, the pump range is comprised of four pumps ranging from 4 to 18 kW.
