Last month, leading global water technology company Xylem Inc. unveiled two new pump products –the BevJet Compact and the V-Jet series rotary vane pumps– under its Flojet brand at the 2013 National Restaurant Association (NRA) trade show in Chicago.

The Bevjet Compact is designed to dispense a wide variety of liquids through the motorized unit, including water, wine, non-pulp juices, iced teas, alcohol (less than 15 percent concentration), and syrups. True to its name, the beverage dispense system is easy to install into tight spaces such as under countertops or in cabinets, making it an ideal solution for food kiosks, drink stalls, and small restaurants. An intelligent automatic shut-off feature can sense liquid levels in the unit, supported by Flojet’s leading electric diaphragm pump technology for long-service life. The system can handle flow ranges from .8 to 1.0 gpm (3.0 to 3.8 l/min).

The Flojet V-Jet series rotary vane pumps are low flow, high pressure positive displacement units designed for use in restaurants and convenience stores in applications with beverage carbonation, hot liquids, and water boosting. The pump heads are specifically designed to address some of the common maintenance/service and safety issues with traditional beverage dispense systems and provide longer service life overall. The V-Jet series is constructed with materials that eliminates risk of lead contamination and includes patented features that provide high pressure where needed and allow reduced vane wear if the supply feed is interrupted.

“Xylem created these products to help professionals stay ahead of the fast-paced restaurant and hospitality industry,” says Dave Allen, product group manager for Xylem’s Applied Water Systems business unit. “Proprietors are looking for beverage systems and specialized solutions that can be customized to fit their ever-changing needs. The BevJet Compact is optimal for the spatial constraints presented by today’s dining architecture. The V-Jet series pump head offers a reliable smooth-running solution that drives reverse osmosis water systems, carbonated drink applications, coolant circulation or hot drink applications.”
